3. Breast Cancer Awareness Month & useful links

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important time of the year in the fight against this form of cancer. It takes place throughout the month of October and is an annual worldwide campaign designed to boost awareness and education behind the matter, whilst raising valuable money for further research and testing.

Most breast cancer charities earmark October as a fantastic time of year to push this campaign, relying on the help and support of individuals all over the world. People get involved by putting on their own fundraising or participating in events across the UK.

There are loads of ways to get involved as well, such as taking part in sporting events, enlisting onto a skydive or bungee jump, and even baking cakes for your work colleagues to purchase. Whichever way you decide to support the month, every penny helps and you’ll be raising awareness and education at the same time.

The need for such events is clear too - 78% of men, when surveyed by YouGov, stated that they felt there was insufficient knowledge of the condition in males across the UK. It’s time to raise awareness.
