Cancellation: Your Insurancewith travel insurance policy covers you in the event that you are unable to go on your trip before you depart due to unforeseen circumstances such as injury, illness or a close relatives or travelling companion’s death.

Fill out this form in order to make your claim, and make sure that you provide us with as much information regarding the circumstances of your claim as possible, as this will mean your claim can be dealt with more efficiently. Medical Expenses: Your medical expenses cover make sure you are insured for any emergency medical expenses, necessary travel, accommodation or repatriation costs in the event of your illness, injury or death during your trip. In some cases, you will be expected to pay for out-patient treatment and medicines straight away, in which case keep all receipts and submit them with your claims form upon our return home. If you have been admitted to hospital, the Emergency Assistance Services will have arranged for payments of costs incurred – even if this is the case, make sure you still complete and submit a claim form.

If you have to come home early because of an illness or an injury sustained on your holiday, you should also complete a curtailment travel insurance claim form.

Cutting short your trip: Insurancewith cover you for any pro-rata travel costs from the day you have to come home should you or a travelling companion have to stop your trip and return home early due to you, the person you are travelling with, a close relative or business associate unexpectedly becoming injured, ill or passing away.

Personal possessions, personal money and travel documents: Personal possessions, money and travel documents are covered in the event that they are lost, stolen or damaged. Your policy wording lists the total limit for specific items and the amount covered by your specific insurance policy.

Please note: all claims for personal possessions are settled based on the second hand value of any items you claim for, and not their replacement or sentimental value.

It is required that you obtain a police report in the case of any lost or stolen items in order to make your claim valid.

Similarly, you should obtain a report from the airline or other transport provider in the case of making a claim against delayed or damaged personal possessions, confirming the delay or the damage.

Departure delay, abandonment or piste closure: InsuranceWith travel insurance policies provide cover for you in the event that your aircraft, ship or ferry is delayed after its scheduled time of departure.

After you have checked in, Insurancewith provide you with a contributory fee towards additional accommodation, car parking charges, food, drink, or any telephone calls not covered by your usual mobile provider.

If you have been delayed for more than 24 hours, your Insurancewith travel insurance policy will cover you for the pre-paid cost of your holiday that hasn’t already been paid out or refunded to you by the holiday, tour or transport operator, should you decide not to travel but to cancel your trip altogether.

Please make sure you obtain written confirmation of the delay by the airline or other transport provider.

Personal Accident: Personal accident travel insurance cover is provided in the event that you have an accident whilst on your trip and are unfortunate enough to suffer injury such as the loss of an eye or limb, or even die whilst away.

Personal liability: Your personal liability cover insures you against any circumstance where you have been found legally responsible for an incident towards another person or their property.
In this situation, it is extremely important that you do not admit fault or liability, even if you feel like you are responsible. If at all possible, you should exchange personal details such as names, addresses and personal contact numbers of any witnesses that might have seen what happened.
Please note that if you receive any correspondence you must not reply to it, you must forward it to us immediately.

Access to medical records: As a condition of your travel insurance policy it is important that where applicable, for example in the event of a claim, you must agree to allow us to have access to your medical records so we can verify your claim.

Whilst you can refuse consent, it may mean that we are unable to deal with your claim.
You are authorised to see the report, should you wish, before it is supplied to us or our agents, or at any time during the six months after that.

Should you disagree with the contents of the report or consider it to be misleading, you may ask your doctor to amend it. If your doctor disagrees, you may add your own written comments.

The doctor is allowed to withhold all or part of the report from you if they think that this would be in your best interests, or that of others.

At no time will the report be sent to URV or their agents without your consent.
