Following the British Airways delays caused by a computer glitch at Gatwick and Heathrow, we would like to clarify what cover is available under your Insurancewith policy.
If you would like to cancel your trip:
If you have suffered a delay exceeding 24 hours in duration and not one-way, you can submit a claim for cancellation. If you are travelling within the UK, your trip must also be for more than two days duration. If you can obtain a refund from the airline or tour operator that you are travelling with or any other source, then you should not submit a claim for cancellation.
If your departure has been delayed:
Providing your delay has been over 12 hours and that the delay is not due to the diversion of the aircraft after it has departed, you can submit a claim for delayed departure. If you can obtain a refund or alternative transport that departs within 12 hours then you should not submit a claim for delayed departure.
