The Insurancewith team were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the recent events in Brussels on the 22nd March 2016.
We would like to offer our deepest sympathies are with all those who have been affected by this incident and hope that everyone returns safely.
To help anyone currently in Brussels, or anyone who has booked a trip to go to the country, we have put together the information below:
If you are currently in Brussels
If you are in the area, please ensure you keep in touch with your tour operator or airline and follow any advice given by the Belgian security authorities. British officials are being given advice to avoid crowded places and the public transport network. You should remain alert and vigilant, especially in places where there is a high concentration of people.
If a friend or family member has recently travelled to Brussels and you are concerned, the Belgian Crisis Centre has given the Belgian telephone number 0032 2753 7300 for you to call, or 1171 for general enquiries.
If you have had to seek medical attention following this event, please contact our Emergency Assistance team on +44 203 829 6745 as soon as you can, so that we are able to liaise directly with your doctors and family.
Following this event, we completely understand should you want to return home to the UK before your previously-expected return date. If this is the case, you should contact your tour operator or airline to see if they can assist you in getting home. In the event that they are unable to offer help, please contact our Claims Team directly at email@example.com, and we will endeavour to help you begin your claims process.
If you have a trip booked to Belgium
Following the events in Brussels, you may want to cancel your upcoming trip to the area. In this case you should liaise directly with your airline or travel agent to arrange either cancellation or a change in your travel dates. Insurancewith are happy to change the dates on your travel insurance policy easily (and with no administration fee) if this is the case. Simply contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or use our instant Live Chat feature on the right hand side of your screen.
Currently the FCO are not advising against travel to Brussels. To keep up to date with the FCO travel advice please click here.
In the event that you are unable to move the trip to an alternative destination, and are offered a refund from your airline, travel agent or tour operator, Insurancewith are happy to offer a full refund of premium on the understanding that no claim is to be made against the policy.
If you are travelling independently, please make your own arrangements to leave by either altering your return tickets where possible or booking into an alternative form of transport.
If you require any further information, please visit the FCO website or contact our Claims Team directly on email@example.com, where an advisor will endeavour to help you. You can download a claim form by visiting our Claims page
