Man finds girl for round-the-world trip

A few weeks ago, we reported on a story which involved a man looking for a travel buddy with the same name as his ex-girlfriend to share a once-in-a-lifetime round-the-world trip after he broke up with his partner but didn’t want the ticket to go to waste.

The story managed to capture the attention of the internet and soon after, the world media. The only catch to the plea for someone to join him was that they had to have a Canadian passport and have the same name as the original intended owner of the ticket – Elizabeth Gallagher.
Whilst the idea of meeting someone random over the internet before embarking on a three week trip around the world with them might induce nightmares in some, the soon to be travelling duo have said that they have spoken for hours on the phone before deciding to travel together. Elizabeth said; “It definitely did seem a little bit creepy at the beginning but now that I talked to him it’s less creepy and more awesome.”Now, an update. Jordan Anaxi, the 28 year-old laid back traveller has chosen Elizabeth Quinn Gallagher from Cole Harbour in Nova Scotia to join him on his travels through Italy, France, the Czech Republic, India and Thailand.

Axani, true to his initial posting on the online community of Reddit, confirmed that he had no romantic intentions, stating: “It’s strictly a platonic trip. It’s going to be great. Do I think we’ll become friends? Sure!”

Thanks to the publicity and worldwide interest in his story, Jordan has set up a charity called A Ticket Forward, affectionately dubbed ‘A Make-A-Wish Foundation for Travel’ (after the American charity which helps people suffering from serious medical conditions to fulfil their dreams), which aims to help people to travel who would not otherwise had the financial means to do so.
