The Insurancewith team were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the recent events in Istanbul on the 7th June 2016.
We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to all those who have been affected by this incident and hope that everyone returns safely.
To help anyone currently in Istanbul, or anyone who has booked a trip to go to the country, we have put together the information below:
If you are in the area, please ensure you keep in touch with your tour operator or airline and follow any advice given by the Turkish security authorities. British officials are being given advice to avoid crowded places and the public transport network. You should remain alert and vigilant, especially in places where there is a high concentration of people.
The current Foreign and Commonwealth Office advice can be found by following this link. (https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/turkey )
If you have had to seek medical attention following this event, please contact our Emergency Assistance team on +44 203 829 6745 as soon as you can, so that we are able to liaise directly with your doctors and family.
Following the events in Istanbul, you may want to cancel your upcoming trip to the area. In this case you should liaise directly with your airline or travel agent to arrange either cancellation or a change in your travel dates.
In the event that you are unable to move the trip to an alternative destination, and are offered a refund from your airline, travel agent or tour operator, Insurancewith are happy to offer a full refund of premium on the understanding that no claim is to be made against the policy.
If you are travelling independently, please make your own arrangements to leave by either altering your return tickets where possible or booking into an alternative form of transport.
